Pedagogy for All: CTE’s
Teaching Resource Guide

AAUP Conference.

In June, CTE Graduate Assistants Kirsten Crase and Anna Bedford presented at the American Association of University Professors’ international conference, “Globalization, Shared Governance, and Academic Freedom.” Their presentation, “Creating an Inclusive Teaching Resource Guide, Stimulating Campus Engagement and Community” showcased the 2008 expansion of the
Graduate Teaching
Assistant Resource Guide. The Teaching Resource Guide is a
publication that has historically and nominally been produced for
one part of our community, but became CTE’s main pedagogical print
resource, and was revised last year to speak to all those engaged in
undergraduate education on campus – be they professors, instructors,
adjuncts or graduate teaching assistants. The review and expansion
that took place was a truly and unusually collaborative endeavor,
involving multiple offices and programs from across the campus.
Among those that
|
|
gave their time and input to improving the Teaching Resource Guide
included Faculty Affairs, Student Affairs, OIT, Counseling Services,
as well as individual faculty and graduate assistants and various
CTE affiliates and advocates.
Whether you are interested in grading with rubrics, advice on working with your undergraduate TAs, advice on working with your faculty supervisor, academic integrity, teaching with technology, or dealing with classroom disruption, the CTE
Teaching Resource Guide is a valuable resource that we hope will enhance undergraduate teaching and assist our faculty and graduate assistants with their professional development as teachers. The 2009-2010 edition of the
Teaching Resource Guide is now available, complete with updated campus resources and contact information and academic calendar for the coming year. Visit CTE in 0405 Marie Mount Hall to collect a copy or download one at

The Teaching Resource Guide is supported by the Office of Undergraduate Studies, the Graduate School and the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs.
